well, you have totally encapsulated the premise and promise of the work the I have undertaken with the "Video Songs for Children" project! I hope that you don't mind if I paraphrase your succinct and articulate descriptions for the process and purpose of this kind of learning. I am just now putting together the opening introductory dialogue that will be added to my website and I am absolutely thrilled to be able to quote you in the more academic written information that will also be added to the site.
Thank you for the ideas and support information. I do get the concept about the riffs - as I am a musician - hope that they transfer well also to non musicians. I am wondering if it would be a good example to demonstrate just one riff (repeated pattern) and then make subtle changes to that riff to demonstrate the concept even more readily. Just a thought . thanks, Jan Magray

I am delighted to discover this site! How great to see this development in educational design and development! I am a retired educator and have developed a new concept in providing educational structures for teachers to implement that allows for many of the concepts mentioned in your blog stream samples. I would like to know if there are other educational designers out there who are creating similar online experiences for elementary school students. My project involves creating short stories or games that are guided by the musical tracks. There are multiple applications and these audio visual activity guides are called video songs and they can be used as springboards for rich and inspiring support activities that include many interactive, multi sensory, and cross curricular concepts. thanks, Jan Magray
